About

Management Information System(MIS) is a team that is present in every organization. The goal this team is to gather data from different teams and create summarized reports from them. The team also creates Monthly, Quarterly, and yearly reports to analyze the performance of the organization.The overall workflow of the MIS is to gather, organize and present the data. MIS Champ course trains you on all these three aspects. The course includes training on Base and Advance Excel, SQL and Power BI.

Content

Base Excel

  • Recognize the main terms used to describe Excel's work canvas.
  • Utilize the keyboard or mouse to select cells and ranges in a spreadsheet.
  • Format cells by selecting fonts and color fill to make information more attractive.
  • Learn basic math functions including SUM, ROUND and SUBTOTAL.
  • Learn basic statistical functions including COUNT, COUNTA, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, MEDIAN, and MODE.
  • Learn to build standalone logical IF functions, and make them more complex by nesting AND and OR within them.
  • Learn to break apart text with the LEFT, RIGHT, MID, FIND and SEARCH functions, and to combine text with the & character.
  • Understand how dates work in Excel using the TODAY, YEAR, MONTH, DAY and DATE functions.
  • Understand how time works in Excel, and how to change from whole numbers into time increments and back again.
  • Learn to work with formula auditing tools including tracing precedent and dependent cells and formula evaluation. 
  • Learn to use VLOOKUP to find an approximate match and return it or the corresponding value from another column.
  • Learn to use VLOOKUP to find an exact match and return it or the corresponding value from another column.
  • Learn to work with INDEX, MATCH and HLOOKUP, as alternatives to the VLOOKUP function 
  • Learn to sort data in Excel by a single column or by multiple columns.
  • Learn to filter Excel data for specific words, dates, and apply multiple filters to a single data table.

Advance Excel

  • Learn about creating named ranges, and the benefits of doing so.
  • Learn to record basic Excel macros to automate your actions (instead of doing them manually).
  • Learn to create and modify basic PivotTables (for quickly summarizing and highlighting data).
  • Learn to control formatting and other options in PivotTables.
  • Learn to create and modify basic calculated fields for PivotTables.

SQL

  • An Overview of SQL
  • We will discuss some of the important data types that may be used in a relational database, including Integer, varchar, text and much more 
  • Here we will start to write SQL statements and queries, starting with basic SELECT statements
  • We can target specific columns using the WHERE clause along with a SELECT statement
  • We can select data based on multiple conditions using the AND & OR clause
  • We will look at how we can sort returned data using the ORDER BY clause
  • GROUP BY Clause
  • The HAVING clause is similar to a WHERE clause but can use aggregation
  • The TOP clause is to limit the number of records that will be returned from a SELECT statement
  • Use DISTINCT to only return distinct or different values in a SELECT statement
  • The UNION operator to combine the result-set of two or more SELECT statements
  • Functions-We will look at some built in functions for performing calculations on data 
  • INSERT Statement

Power BI

  • Understanding key concepts in business intelligence, data analysis, and data visualization
  • Importing your data and automatically creating dashboards from services such as Excel, SQL Server, and SSAS

  • Visualizing your data and authoring reports
  • Creating calculated columns and measures
  • Using DAX formulae
